Train Station, Umea, Sweden

Umea train station was designed by architect Lennart Sjögren and opened in August, 2010. The building is the main tourist center in the city. Its harmonious combination of wood and glass with the point fixed support structure creates a unique façade design.

Construction is minimalist, although large format and heavy triplе IGUs were used for the façade glazing. The IGUs outer pane was laminated glass with a multifunctional magnetron coating and fixed by a spider system through the inner laminated glass.

Due to the use of a high selective glass coating, the train station building meets all the required performance characteristics: low energy consumption and comfort conditions required in the design.
